Across the Archdiocese of Detroit and across the world, men are coming together in parish and other local groups to grow deeper in their fellowship with the Lord and with one another.

In these faith-filled Men's Fellowship Groups, young men and old are being restored in new and powerful ways to God, to their own personal holeness and well-being, to their wives, children and families, to their parishes, their Church, and their place as sons of God in the community at large.

Who We Are

Catholic Men's Fellowships encourage men to gather in prayer, scripture study and shared faith to strengthen their relationship with God and one another.

The Fellowships do this by:

• Promoting and supporting Christian Men's Fellowships in Catholic Parishes.

• Keeping men aware of helpful resources available to them through the Fellowships.

• Giving men the opportunity to come together regularly to pray, learn, encourage one another and exchange ideas and resources.

• The Archdiocese Catholic Men's Fellowships are encouraged and supported through the Archdiocesan Office for Evangelization.

This is your invitation to come and see the wonderful things that God is doing.

History

Resulting from the powerful experiences of The Promise Keepers events a group of lay men under the leadership of Mike Timmis, who himself was a chairperson for Promise Keepers, brought the idea of a Catholic Men's Conference to Cardinal Maida who gave his approval. A committee was formed with Mike Timmis, Paco Gaverledies and Father John Riccardo to host the event at St. John's Center in Plymouth in March of 2002. The first event was sold out with over 800 people attending. The confernece is now in it's 5th year with over 3200 men attending last years confernce. The thrust of this conference is for men to recognize a call to deepen their commitment to Christ by sharing the Gospel with other men.

Dear men of God,

I trust that you are all having a great summer and getting some sun and perhaps some of those of you who are so afflicted!

I’m sending you this special letter that has been a long time coming from Basil Bakal, the Chairman of Adopt-A- Refugee-Family-Committee. After the moving presentation given us by Fr. Frank Kalabat of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Church at our men’s conference this year, a number of you inquired as to how you might support the Chaldean Christians either in this country or those scattered throughout the Middle East as refugees. Basil and I talked at greater length about their situation and came to the conclusion that we should make his letter and this information available to all of you for your own personal prayer and discernment. “Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his brother.”

Yours in christ,

Paco+
